Beyonce's Pregnancy Could Delay 'A Star Is Born'

Beyonce is pregnant, but what about that other star who's waiting to be born? The "Single Ladies" singer, who revealed her pregnancy at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, will likely have to delay her work in Clint Eastwood's adaptation of "A Star is Born," Deadline reports. The film was aiming to get underway this winter, but the impending arrival of Beyonce's child throws a wrench into those plans. The timing could be worse, at least, as Deadline reports that Eastwood's first choice for the male lead, Leonardo DiCaprio, is no longer attached to the project. That gives the director -- and us -- plenty of time to consider replacements. See our list of who should star opposite Beyonce past the jump! Christian Bale The Oscar winner is already rumored to be circling "A Star is Born," and we wholeheartedly support the idea. Bale has all the charm to play leading man Norman Maine in his highest highs and all the intensity to tap into the character's lowest lows. Getting the chance to see him opposite Beyonce and under Eastwoods direction would be a great treat for cinephiles. Plus, Bale in an Eastwood-directed musical is probably as close to a "Newsies" sequel as we're going to get! Matt Damon Damon could have played DiCaprio's character in "The Departed" with little trouble (though we're very happy with how that casting turned out), so how about turning him loose on another DiCaprio role? The Oscar winner is already an Eastwood veteran, and an actor with his considerable skill set would definitely bring out the best in Beyonce. Will Smith Deadline mentions that Smith's name has also been floated around for "A Star is Born," and that casting wouldn't disappoint us one bit. It's been a while since we've seen Smith in a major starring role almost four years, to be precise and after his decision to pass on Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained," we're itching to see Smith paired up with a big name director. Eastwood more than fits the bill, and watching Smith on screen opposite Beyonce certainly wouldn't hurt. Who would you cast opposite Beyonce in "A Star is Born?" let us know in the commnts section and on Twitter!
