In the movie Home Alone, why did the cameraguy film the kid instead of calling the cops?

This has been bugging me for a while. In Home Alone the camera guy
just filmed what was happening, and didn't call the cops. What I'm
confused about is why didn't he call the cops? A kid was home alone
and his house was robbed, so why not call the cops?
